Two dozen pairs of jeans with a twist: patchwork, fringe, cut-outs, studs and sculpted legs. For anyone who wants denim with a little personality.

Denim gets interesting when the cut or the detail does something unexpected. I like a pair that starts the conversation on its own, so the rest of the outfit can stay quiet. A black or white tee and a good belt is usually all it needs.

 

For detail, I reach for Veronica Beard's patchwork Dylan and Tom Ford's chain fringe wide leg, which swings when you walk. The Jean Paul Gaultier cut out wide leg and the JW Anderson sculptural crop are the bolder end, and I would wear both with flat shoes. If you want the shape without the drama, try the bowed legs from EB Denim and Pistola, or B Sides with its double waistband.
