All My Love Tops and Pants: Where to Start

All My Love Tops and Pants: Where to Start

All My Love is a Los Angeles label for tops and pants, started by Georgie Dorfman when she began designing clothes for herself. I like its easy, self-loving point of view, and this edit is how I would start wearing it.

The self-starting story behind All My Love

I trust brands that begin with a woman making herself the thing she cannot find, and All My Love is exactly that. Georgie Dorfman studied retail, textile and fashion design and business in Madison, tried a brief fashion job, then turned the pieces she designed for herself into a Los Angeles label in 2021. She learned the business by doing the work, and I find that very likeable.

The name says it all: self-love, individuality and being comfortable in your own skin. It is a female-led label for well-fitting essentials with room to move, and a portion of profits goes to the LEAP Foundation. Her Our Story page tells it better than I can.

Dorfman's first idea was going-out clothes, and how women decide whether to wear them twice. The clothes here carry that same question into ordinary days: tops, pants and layers you would happily repeat.

Soft knits with a little attitude

These tops sit somewhere between soft and shaped, and they never turn the closet into a strict dress code. The Kayla Top is an oversized open polo in lightweight cashmere, and I would tuck just the front into straight jeans and leave the rest loose. The Ava Top is the simple crewneck tee version of the same fiber.

The Tara Shawl Top is the sculptural one, draping around the neck and hips and opening at the back. Picture her in it with plain trousers at dinner, then reaching for the Kayla Top on a long travel day. The Hunter Top, Maddie Top and Duke Knit Top fill in the quieter days. What I would skip: the shawl, if you want back coverage.

Pants that leave room to move

The lower half of this edit works best when ease has just a little structure. Katie Pants are soft and light, and I would pair them with a fitted tee and walk across town without once thinking about a stiff waistband. The Kayla Pants and Renee Pants are the other relaxed options.

Dani Jeans bring a low, relaxed cut in denim that feels unusually light and soft. I would try them on full length before deciding, since the line is the whole point. The appeal here is a loose, easy shape, not a crease that needs babysitting.

Layers and shorts that keep their ease

This is where the comfort story becomes an outfit. Renee Shorts are the low, loose pair in a light, drapey fabric, and I would balance their volume with a close-fitting tank. Cotton Nicole Shorts are the plainer cousin. The Katie Sweater is boxy cashmere with a buttoned collar, an easy partner for simple shorts or trousers.

Then comes the Charlie Jacket, a windbreaker-like layer with a high neck. It is airy and water-repellent, so I would wear it on a changeable day and not trust it in a downpour. In my fashion dreams, it goes over the Katie Sweater for a late walk home, with the shorts saved for a warmer afternoon.

The pleasure of wearing it again

What I take from All My Love is permission to wear what feels good and repeat it without making a story out of it. Dorfman's self-love idea shows up in clothes with room to move, from a wide-leg pant to an open-back top to a soft sweater. I would start with pieces that fit a real week, not a fantasy calendar. Although I will admit the Tara Shawl Top is the one I would buy for the fantasy one.
