Allies of Skin Skincare: Worth the Investment?

Allies of Skin Skincare: Worth the Investment?

Allies of Skin is the science-led skincare brand Nicolas Travis started in Singapore in 2016, now based in Berlin. I like it because every formula has one clear job, and the story behind it is about repair.

A skincare line built from a story of repair

Most skincare brands start with a mood board, and I admit I trust the ones that start with a need. Nicolas Travis studied biomedical and pharmaceutical science, and he began developing Allies of Skin after a severe accident led to facial reconstructive surgery and complications. He launched it in Singapore in 2016, after two and a half years of research, with three products. The company is now headquartered in Berlin.

What I keep returning to is how neatly the origin fits the formulas: concentrated actives with real evidence behind them, functions combined where it makes sense, and a routine that does not turn into a second job. The brand connects skincare with healing and self-acceptance, and I like that it does not present a clinical routine as a test to pass.

The Multi Peptides & GF Advanced Lifting Serum was an early favorite, selling out six times after its 2023 launch with a waitlist of 11,000 people.

I would start by choosing the job I want the next step to do. The Multi Peptides & Growth Factor Advanced Lifting Serum 30ml and its bigger 50ml sibling are the lifting pair, while the Azelaic & Kojic Advanced Clarifying Serum 30ml and Tranexamic & Arbutin Advanced Brightening Serum 30ml point toward targeted treatment. The Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser 250ml is the reset, and the Peptide & Ceramide Repair Lip Balm is the smallest commitment on the shelf.

Picture a slow morning at the sink: cleanser, one treatment serum, then the moisturizer and sunscreen already in my routine. For evening, my daydream is the 0.1% Retinal & Peptides Advanced Repair Night Cream taking one clear place instead of joining a pile of new actives. What I would skip is buying both sizes of a serum before settling on the formula I actually reach for. Add one new treatment at a time and follow its own directions.

I like the clarity of this line: each formula has a specific role, and the founder's own experience gives the emphasis on repair a human source. It does not ask me to buy every step at once.

I would choose one treatment for the concern I have right now, keep a cleanser and moisturizer I trust, and see what earns a place. That feels truer to the brand's idea of focused care than a crowded bathroom shelf. Although I will admit the Peptides & Omegas Firming Eye Cream is tempting me.
