Amir Slama Swimwear and Jewelry

Amir Slama is a Brazilian designer who launched his own label in 2011, after founding the beachwear house Rosa Chá in 1993 with his wife Riva. He trained in history and taught it before fashion, and he built a career on tropical high-fashion swimwear that began in a small workshop in the Bom Retiro neighborhood of São Paulo. This edit gathers charm necklaces, drop earrings, bag chains, Jade Picon bikinis, jewelry sets and keyrings.

Colorful swimwear and resort layers on beaches, rocky shores and sunlit coastal settings.

Charms, drops and layered chains

Amir Slama was a history professor before he was a designer, and I think that shows in how he builds a story around a beach. He began in a small workshop in the Bom Retiro neighborhood of São Paulo, and in 1993 he and his wife Riva founded Rosa Chá, which defined tropical high-fashion beachwear. He left in 2010 and launched the Amir Slama brand in 2011. Brazil named him Best Designer of the Year in 2002 and 2003, and his friend Naomi Campbell walked in his shows. The jewelry in this edit takes that sense of play. The Five-strand charm necklace, the Heart multi chain necklace and the Mushroom-pendant necklace are made for layering, and the Bird-pendant and Charm-appliqué drop earrings carry the same small, odd details. The Floral-appliqué earrings and the Flor earrings are the softer pair. For bracelets, the Multi-chain stack and the Beaded charm bracelet pile on easily. A simple test is to choose one loud necklace and keep the earrings quiet, or reverse it. For a stacking lesson, the beaded clover jewelry in gold and color edit is a good reference.

Bag chains, anklets and statement pendants

This is the playful corner of the label. The Bee-motif, Bow-detail and Flower-detail bag chains are made to hang from a bag, and the Embellished bag chain does the same with more sparkle. The Six-strand charm necklace and the Statement-pendants necklace are the heavier pieces, while the Chain-link ankle bracelet is the one to wear barefoot. Slightly odd earrings are a Slama habit, and you can see it in the Flower bunny-motif drops, the Glittered drops and the Christmas-motifs asymmetric pair. The Beaded flower bracelet and the Multi-chain beaded bracelet finish the wrist. Keep the shirt plain and let one piece lead. If you like the drop shape, I wrote about pearl drop earrings, and statement accessories in general makes a useful companion.

Bikinis, with a Jade Picon collaboration

The swimwear is where the story started, and at São Paulo Fashion Week in October 2025 he celebrated 35 years of career. That collection came out of two years of research in Pará and Mato Grosso. The bikinis here are mostly from his collaboration with Jade Picon: tie embellished, tie-fastening, triangle-top and starfish-detail versions, plus a Star-embellished bikini outside the collaboration. Ties let you adjust the fit, and trims and embellishments make the suit the only decoration you need. What I would skip is a necklace stack over the starfish and star details; the swimsuit is already doing the talking. In our fashion dreams she walks off a Brazilian beach in the triangle top with nothing but a bag chain.

Sets for stacking and gifting

The sets are an easy way into the label. The Bead-embellished necklace and Rose necklace each come as a set of three, and the Charm-detail bracelet comes as a set of five. There are also Bracelets, Charms bracelets and Beaded necklace sets, and the Star-appliqué necklace earrings set adds a matching pair. The String-straps bikini set is the swimwear in this group, so it is the one to pack for the beach itself. Wear a set the way it arrives, or split it, with one bracelet on each wrist. For the necklaces, a look at the modern pearl edit and layered necklaces gives some ideas for how to build on them. Think of a set as a starting point: add one more chain, or take one piece away, until it feels like yours.

Keyrings and a hair tie

Small objects finish the edit. The Bear-motif and Floral-motif keyrings and the Brass keyring are the sort of thing you clip to a bag strap, and the Floral-appliqué hair tie keeps the beach mood on a bad hair day. They share the details of the jewelry above: flowers, animals and small charms, all in a size that fits in a palm. Pair one with the bag chains from the second section and the bag becomes part of the outfit. The Brass keyring is the plainest of the three, which makes it the one to choose if the bag already has a lot going on. They are also an easy small gift for someone who already has every necklace.

How I would wear it

If I were packing for a Brazilian summer, I would take one Jade Picon bikini, one charm necklace and a pair of the odd drop earrings, then fill the rest with the small things. Slama has spent 35 years in fashion proving that beachwear can be a serious subject, and this edit shows his sense of play in miniature. The enewton approach to stacking bracelets is the other reference I would keep open.
