A back to prep edit of pleated skirts, cardigans and crew sweaters in navy, cream and brown. For anyone who wants a polished, school yard take on fall dressing.

Back to prep, for me, starts with a pleated skirt and a sweater that looks like it belonged to a school team. I keep the colors navy, cream, gray and brown and let the shapes do the talking. Sea's Garrett corduroy mini and the Angelina pleated midi are the two skirts I would start with, and ASTR the Label's Melian skirt works with loafers and knee socks.

 

On top, the English Factory cardigan with the pearl pockets feels like a blazer in knit form, and Guest in Residence makes the soft cashmere ones that you can wear open over a white shirt. I like Another Girl's cardigan with a sailor collar for something a little more playful, and a tortoise headband from J.Crew finishes it. Carry a small Coach bag and you are ready for a class you are no longer taking.
