Black n Blue

Tops, denim and trousers for men in black and blue, mixed so each color supports the other. Dark washes, plaids and soft knits that work together.

The pairing I trust most when I do not want to think is black and blue. The black gives you the sharp edge, blue softens it, and together they look finished without any effort. Denim does half the work, so I start there with a dark wash like the wide-leg ring jeans from MM6 Maison Margiela or the faded Larry cut from Nudie Jeans.

 

On top I like a mix of tones: a washed denim shirt from Carhartt WIP, the Dunewood flannel from Fair Harbor in navy plaid, or a black Piste jumper from Perfect Moment. The Sunwashed crewneck from Faherty is the easiest blue sweater to throw on over a plain black tee, and the Sporty & Rich sweatshirt adds a lighter, sky blue note. Keep one color as the base and let the other show up in one or two pieces so it never looks like a uniform.
