Blizzard Essentials

Blizzard Essentials

Layers, ski pieces, boots and warm accessories for the coldest days of winter. It is for anyone who wants to stay warm and still like what they are wearing.

When a real storm is coming, I stop thinking about outfits and think in layers. Start next to the skin with something thin like the SKIMS turtleneck catsuit, add a knit such as the Veronica Beard cashmere pullover or the SEROYA Tirza, then put a proper shell over everything. Goldbergh's Village jacket and Sandy ski pant are made for snow, and a pair of goggles keeps your eyes open when the wind picks up.

Then I go after the small things, because that is where you lose heat. Lisa Yang mittens and a Jenni Kayne cashmere beanie are the first things I pack, and the Astri balaclava is the one I put on when it gets really bad. For the walk to dinner I want boots with a real sole, like the UGG Ultra Mini or Inuikii curly boots, and a long coat from Save The Duck over the top.
