Bondi Boost: The Rosemary Hair Brand That Started on an Australian Beach

Bondi Boost, written BondiBoost on the bottle, was founded in Sydney in 2018 and is best known for its rosemary-based HG range for fuller-looking hair. Here are the HG treatments, the Thickening Therapy volumizers and the Rapid Repair bond builders, with notes on which to use when.

BondiBoost was founded in 2018 by Alexandra Jakob, a Sydney entrepreneur who had already built and sold a childcare business, and the brand says its first formulas were developed on the shores of Bondi Beach as a salon professional line. It started with the HG system, a shampoo, conditioner, mask and scalp sprays built around rosemary oil, saw palmetto and nettle leaf, and the HG shampoo is still its best seller. That rosemary focus arrived just as rosemary was having its moment online, which I think is why so many people know the name. The first row is the treatment side of the range. The HG conditioner and the Miracle mask are for lengths, meant to hydrate and strengthen dry ends. The Lock Drops serum and the daily scalp spray go straight onto the scalp. Part your hair into sections, apply them to the scalp rather than the lengths, and massage for a minute. One thing I would be clear on: these are cosmetic products for how hair looks and feels, so if you are noticing real shedding, see a dermatologist first.

For volume, not just shine

The second row is for fine hair that falls flat, and it is the part of BondiBoost I use most. The Thickening Therapy shampoo lifts at the roots, and the conditioner uses biotin, vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid to make strands feel plumper without weighing them down. The leave-in styling spray goes on damp roots before a blow-dry, and it is the single product in this row I would get first. The HG dry shampoo absorbs oil and adds volume between washes. Together they are a quick routine for hair that needs body more than repair. Blow-dry upside down for the last minute.

When the problem is damage

Rapid Repair is the bond building line, for hair that has been bleached, colored or heat styled too often. The shampoo and conditioner strengthen as you wash, the mask is designed to reduce breakage from the first use, and the leave-in finishes the routine. Use the mask once a week in place of the conditioner. What I would skip is mixing the volume and repair lines in one wash on thin, flat hair. Repair products are richer by design, so keep them to the lengths and the volume ones to the roots. Give it three or four weeks before you judge the difference.

Which row is yours

If you are noticing more shedding than usual, the HG Lock Drops scalp serum and conditioner are the place to start, alongside a check with a dermatologist. If it is flat and limp, start with Thickening Therapy. If it breaks when you brush it, start with Rapid Repair. It is a young Australian brand with a clear system, and honestly the system is the most useful part. If you want to keep browsing, I also put together Rosemary Hair Oil and the Study Behind the Trend and Eva NYC, the Brooklyn Hair Brand Known for Masks and Primers.
