Dale McCarthy started BONDI BORN in the sun room of her Bondi home in 2014, and her first collection sold out in Europe within six weeks of its 2015 release. The label is now led by creative director Natalia Gyzbowski and is known for resort dresses and swimwear cut from Italian high-Lycra fabric. This edit gathers the dresses, swimsuits and easy separates that carry that beach-to-dinner idea.

Dresses

There is something I love about a brand that began in a sun room instead of a studio. These dresses, in draped crepe, satin and silk, feel like they were designed by someone who actually lives near the water.

Swimwear

The swimsuits lean on the Italian high-Lycra fabric the label has been known for since the start. They are cut to stay put, which matters more than any print.

Separates

Wide-leg crepe pants, bubble crepe skirts and waterfall tops let you carry the same easy mood away from the beach. I would pair any of them with the swimsuit above for a very short trip from sand to dinner.

A label that sold out first

McCarthy's first European collection sold out in six weeks, which tells you the idea was clear from day one. Resort that works in a real life is still the point.
