Boot Cut

Boot Cut

A men's edit of bootcut and flared jeans with a 70s feel, plus a few roomy legs that sit over boots. Made for heavy boots and plain tees.

The flared hem is back, and I am glad. After years of skinny jeans, a leg that opens at the ankle looks balanced on a man, especially with a real boot underneath.

The Levi's 517 is the classic place to start, and the Citizens of Humanity Milo is the one I would wear with a plain tee and a leather belt. The AG Clint has a flare that looks sharp in a worn light blue. Wrangler's cowboy cut and the AE AirFlex bootcut do the same job in a more casual way.

A few straighter cuts sit on the page too, like the AGOLDE 90s, the Alex Mill relaxed jean, the Closed Springdale and the Stockholm Surfboard Club denim. They are not true bootcuts, but the leg is wide enough to fall over a boot the same way. Pick a hem long enough to just touch the heel.
