Broken In

Broken In

Faded denim, soft shirts, cashmere cardigans and washed trousers for men. Pieces with a worn-in feel from the first wear.

The best clothes I own are the ones that already look like they have been around. A broken-in piece does not ask for attention: the collar has softened, the denim has faded at the knee and the cardigan has settled into the shape of your shoulders. This edit is built around that feeling.

I start with denim shirts, like the one from Portuguese Flannel or the Profile Fox from Maison Kitsuné, which look better with every wash. The Mitchell cardigan from Alex Mill in marled cashmere and the chunky Langdale from Universal Works are the layers I reach for when the weather turns. For the bottom half, Citizens of Humanity's cashmere denim jeans feel worn in from the first day, and the brown cords from Joe's Jeans in brown are the pair I would wear with a plain white tee. Pick things that feel soft in your hands, and skip anything stiff that promises to relax later.
