Saturated color paired with shapes that stand out, like puff sleeves, ruffles and scarf tops. For the shopper who wants one bold piece to carry the whole outfit.

This edit is about two things working together: a color strong enough to stop you and a shape that gives it somewhere to go. I think of the Lisa Says Gah Geneva dress in its rainbow stripes, or the red ruffle maxi with a high slit, as the loud end. Then there is the Sea lace cape dress in mustard yellow and the SIR. poppy silk maxi, where the print does the talking and the cut stays easy.

 

Puff sleeves are the shape I keep coming back to. The Agua Bendita mini and the English Factory cardigan both use them, and a NIA cardigan in merlot sits nicely over a slip. For quieter days I would knot a La DoubleJ scarf top over denim, or wear the Susana Monaco ruched top in oxblood with a plain pair of jeans so the color is the only statement.
