Designer Shirt

A men's edit of designer shirts, polos and overshirts, from crisp poplin to linen camp collars and printed silk. It is for guys who want one standout piece to wear with plain trousers.

A designer shirt is the easiest way I know to make a simple outfit look decided. I wear one with plain trousers and let the shirt carry the whole thing, whether that is a crisp white Thom Browne with the oversized cut or a Burberry polo with the check collar.

For summer I keep going back to Orlebar Brown's linen and the camp shirts from NN07, which drape well and look better after a wash. When it cools down, the FRAME zip shirt jacket and the Officine Generale waffle button down work as a light layer over a tee. Aaron Levine's oxford is my pick when you need something blue and sharp, and Vilebrequin's white linen overshirt goes over almost anything. Bottega Veneta and Versace are the ones to look at if you want a shirt people ask about.
