Edge Case

Edge Case

Delicate lace trims meet rugged, deconstructed pieces in a study of contrasts. It is for anyone who likes a pretty detail with a sharp edge.

This edit is about contrast. I like lace best when it shows up where it is not supposed to, a thin edge under something rugged, or a delicate top thrown over a pair of heavy jeans. A good place to start is a lace top like the Generation Love Giada or AKNVAS Freja worn with straight denim and flat boots, so the pretty part stays a little undone.

For the rebellious side I reach for faux leather, like the Alice + Olivia Chara pleated mini, and a plaid shirt from Marques'Almeida worn open and loose. Slip dresses such as the Norma Kamali bias dress or the Another Girl maxi look sharper under a chunky jacket. Pick pieces where the lace is the surprise, and let one rough layer do the rest.
