Eittem is a New York label founded by Erin Saluti, who studied contemporary art and design at the Victoria and Albert Museum and launched her first collection in 2024 after six years of research. Each sculptural bag is made in a Manhattan atelier, carved from salvaged American walnut and lined in leather, in small editions. This edit gathers its three signature forms, the Owl, the Moon and the Bird.

Eittem Bags

The Owl
The Owl is the shape with two oval openings, like eyes, and it is the one people point to first. Walnut, dark charcoal, black and navy versions each carry the same cutouts. It is a bag you hold close against your body like a small piece of furniture. I would carry the walnut one with an all cream outfit.
The Moon
The Moon is a round form with a soft hollow on one face, a bit like a river stone. It comes in pale mint, grey, white and walnut, and a chain turns it into a shoulder bag. This is the easiest of the three to wear with jeans.
The Bird
The Bird is a low, tapered wedge in light blue, burgundy, walnut and bronze. It sits flat in the hand like a clutch and comes with a rhodium plated chain. The walnut is urban salvage, and each bag is made in the Manhattan studio.
How I would carry it
Treat it like a sculpture you happen to carry and keep everything else simple. Eittem makes bags that bridge art and function, and it is easy to see why the forms feel at home on a table as well as a shoulder.
