Erin and Ben Napier home style: historic houses, useful craft and soft layers

Erin and Ben Napier bring two kinds of craft to HGTV's Home Town: Erin is a designer with a fine arts degree, Ben is a woodworker with a history degree, and both graduated from the University of Mississippi. Their show follows them as they restore historic homes in Laurel.

Erin also founded the international stationery company Lucky Luxe, while Ben founded Scotsman Co.; together they are founding co-owners of Laurel Mercantile Co. The revived shop opened on Front Street in December 2016 with two longtime friend couples, and its home range pairs Erin & Ben Co. bedding with Scotsman wood goods.

Erin and Ben Napier's fall home layers: quilts, wood and candlelight

Laurel Mercantile's story says Scotsman Manufacturing began in 2021, making butcher blocks and countertops in Laurel, Mississippi. The Scent Library opened in 2022 around Erin's scent memories, so wood and fragrance belong to a real part of the Napiers' work, not just a seasonal mood.

For cooler evenings, I would start with a quilt, then add shams and pillows from the same Erin & Ben Co. line; the range gives a bedroom layers without needing a full room change. In the kitchen, Scotsman blocks and scalloped boards are made for everyday prep, while Laurel Mercantile candles carry the shop's scent-led storytelling into the evening.

Where I would start with Erin and Ben Napier's home collection

Start with the Paige Floral Blue Quilt and a Laurel 13 oz. Candle, one for the bed and one for the evening. Let the rest come together slowly, and choose pieces that will earn a place in your daily routine. This is the Napier approach I keep coming back to: honest materials, personal stories and things that get used.
