Eucerin began in 1900 with a chemist's patent for an emulsifier, and its Radiant Tone line is where that lab-first mindset meets dark spots. Here are the Eucerin creams and serums, brightening serums from other makers, and the bars and body care that keep a brightening routine going below the neck.

Eucerin, From a Hamburg Pharmacy Patent to a Dark Spot Routine
Eucerin's story starts in 1900, when the chemist Isaac Lifschütz filed a patent for an emulsifier called Eucerit, and the name echoes the Greek for the beautiful wax. It is a lovely detail for a brand now known for practical jars. The origins lie in Paul C. Beiersdorf's Hamburg pharmacy, and the dermatologist Paul Gerson Unna worked closely with Beiersdorf on early products. It was Unna who pointed the Hamburg pharmacist Oscar Troplowitz, Beiersdorf's owner since 1890, to Lifschütz, and Troplowitz saw what Eucerin could do. It even became the base for NIVEA Creme.
That pharmacy background is what I still hear in Eucerin today. The next product after the original ointment was pH5 Eucerin Ointment, in 1950, and the whole line has a sensible, no-nonsense air.
The Radiant Tone family is the part of the range for dark spots. If you have typed eucerin anti pigment into a search bar, this is the family you were probably looking for: a Dual Serum, a Face Lotion with SPF 30 for daytime, a Night Cream, and a Body Cream. I like that it is a system by design, one thing in the morning and another before bed.
Beside them sit two classics, the Advanced Repair Body Cream and the Original Healing Cream, both fragrance-free. And Kojie San's kojic acid soap is a bar for people who want a kojic acid step in the shower.
My own habit is to treat the Radiant Tone pieces as a pair. Serum under the SPF lotion in the morning, night cream after washing, and the body cream on the days I wear short sleeves. The two fragrance-free creams I keep for the rest of the week, when skin just needs to be comfortable and nothing else.

Brightening serums with a stronger hand
Dark spots are stubborn, and creams work slowly, so many people like a second route. This grid is the more active one, with serums built around acids that gently resurface.
Eadem's Cashmere Peel is a milky exfoliant and essence with azelaic, lactic and tranexamic acids, a milky texture that reads more like a lotion than a peel. fresh's Lotus AHA Resurfacing Gentle Serum is, as the name says, a gentle AHA. Ole Henriksen's Dewtopia is a 20% PHA and AHA night serum, the biggest number on any label here, so I keep it for evenings with no other active. Sofie Pavitt Face's Mandelic Acid serum is made for exfoliating and clearing, a pick for anyone who wants an exfoliating step.
Topicals' Faded Brightening Serum, in the unscented version, is my choice for dark spots and discoloration when I want no smell at all. And Summer Fridays' CC Me is a vitamin C and niacinamide serum, the friendliest option for mornings.
A rule that helps: use your brightening actives at night and your protection in the morning, and never the reverse. Sun undoes months of patience in an afternoon, so wear the sunscreen even on cloudy days and by a window. It is dull advice and it is the advice that works. If you notice redness or peeling, take a few days off, and go back to using it half as often.

Body bars and the rest of you
Faces get all the attention, but the neck, arms, knees and shoulders show marks and rough patches too, and that is where body care earns its place.
Topicals' Faded Brightening & Cleansing Body Bar, sold as a two pack, is made for uneven skin tone, and I like it as a shower step because you cannot skip it out of laziness. Nécessaire's The Body Wash in Olibanum brings vitamin C and enzymes, and is a radiance-minded cleanse with a pump so it does not get slippery. The INKEY List's Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Stick is a swipe-on for elbows, ankles and anywhere friction has left roughness. First Aid Beauty's KP Bump Eraser is a body scrub with 10% AHA, made for the small rough bumps of keratosis pilaris.
What I would skip: scrubbing hard to lighten a mark. Friction can leave skin darker, not lighter, so let the products work and keep your touch light. I would also skip using the bar, the stick and the scrub on the same day. Choose one exfoliating step per shower, moisturize straight after, and cover the area with sunscreen if it will be out in the sun. Body skin is thicker than facial skin and usually forgives more, but it is also the part we forget to protect, and marks on the shoulders and forearms often come from summer.

A patient way to approach dark spots
Dark spots reward the patient. Choose a small number of products, use them every day for two or three months, and check your progress with a photo in the same light each time, not with a hopeful squint.
I would build it like this: gentle cleanser, a brightening serum at night, a moisturizer, and sunscreen every single morning. Add body care only when the face routine feels boring. Introduce one thing at a time, a fortnight apart, so that you know what is helping and what is not. Keep your expectations modest: dark spots fade slowly, and the goal is skin that looks a little more even, not a blank canvas. Some weeks you will see nothing at all. If a spot is new, changing shape, bleeding or looks different from its neighbors, please show a doctor before you try any product on it. If you want to keep browsing, I also put together La Roche-Posay Mela B3 Serum and the Dark Spot Routine Around It and Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum Picks, From AXIS-Y to EADEM and Glow Recipe.
