Fall Weekend Errands Outfits: The Lived-In Uniform

Saturday errands deserve an outfit that looks like you, even if you only see the pharmacy and the farmers market. This is my lived-in uniform of jeans, tees, a good jacket and sneakers.

Saturday is for coffee, the farmers market and about six stops I keep forgetting to cross off my list. I want to look put together without thinking about it, which is why I rely on a uniform.

It starts with jeans, because they carry the whole outfit. The Agolde Ren wide-leg is the roomy one, the DL1961 x Olympia of Greece slim straight is the classic, and the Dala Calla in dark green is the one that makes a basic tee feel like a choice. The Tove Senna in red is for a day when you feel brave.

Everyday Tees

A good tee is a quiet thing, and I have strong opinions about the neckline. Look for one that sits flat and does not cling.

The FM 669 organic cotton tee in white is the clean basic, and the Flore Flore Car baby tee in grey is the fitted one for wearing under a jacket. The Prada striped tee is the one that makes jeans look like an outfit, and the Leset Margo in red adds a bright spot. Tuck the front, leave the back, and you are done.

Everyday Jackets

The jacket is where an errands outfit grows up. Fall gives you the best excuse to wear one all day.

The ARMA Melis and The Row Fabian leather jackets are the ones I would buy first, since they get better the more you wear them. The Ulla Johnson Sybil denim jacket in brown is the softer option, and the Balmain peplum nylon bomber in khaki has a shape I have not seen anywhere else. What I would skip is a jacket too precious to put in a tote bag.

Sneakers for Everything

You will be on your feet, so comfort comes first. The best errands sneaker looks clean after three hours of walking.

The Jacquemus Tennis leather sneaker in white is the sharp one, the Toteme quilted suede-trimmed pair in black hides everything, and the Prada Downtown suede sneaker in green adds some life to a gray day. The Golden Goose Ball Star in wool is the cozy pick for a cold morning.

Look Like You Have Nowhere to Be

Jeans that fit, a tee you like, a jacket with some attitude and shoes you can walk in all day. It is a uniform, and it works every Saturday.
