Fine Knit

Fine Knit

Fine gauge merino and cashmere sweaters for men, from crews to quarter zips. Thin enough to layer under tailoring and soft enough to wear alone.

Fine gauge knitwear is the quietest way to look like you made an effort. I want a sweater thin enough to slide under a blazer and soft enough to wear on its own, which is why I keep coming back to merino and cashmere crews in navy, grey and olive. I went deeper on a related idea in What to Wear in 60 Degree Weather: A Trench, a Fine Knit and One Layer to Spare.

The Theory Hilles crew in a pale blue is the one I'd start with, and Officine Generale's Nina in navy is a close second. When it is colder, a quarter zip like the Polo Ralph Lauren merino or the Greyson Sebonack gives you a collar without a shirt. Fedeli and Vince are where I'd go for something to keep for years, and Alex Mill's boxy merino crew is the easy weekend version with jeans.
