Flannel Layer

Flannel Layer

A men's edit of plaid flannels and overshirts to wear open over a tee. For anyone who wants a warm layer that goes with jeans and boots.

A flannel is the easiest layer a guy can own, and the way I like it is open over a plain or graphic tee with the sleeves pushed up. Start with the shirt that fits you through the shoulders, because everything else follows from that. Filson's Vintage Flannel Work Shirt in green and black plaid is thick enough to wear as a jacket, and the Portuguese Flannel Hillside is a softer navy and cream check that looks good with brown boots.

If you want something a little more relaxed, Carhartt WIP's Bagley is a gray shirt jacket that goes over a hoodie, and the Levi's Boxy Western has a cut that works untucked. Madewell's Teamkit is a brown and olive plaid I would wear with dark jeans, and Fair Harbor's Dunewood is the blue one for a cold weekend by the water.
