Flare Studio

Flare leggings, kick flares and soft wide-leg pants for the studio and the street. This edit is for anyone who wants a long leg line with some movement at the hem.

Flare bottoms are what I reach for when I want a leg line that looks finished but still moves like leggings. The shape balances a fitted waist with a little swing at the hem, so it works with a cropped tee on the way to class and a blazer on the way out.

For the studio, I like the Splits59 Raquel in dark chocolate, the Varley Always Flare and the full-length Vuori flare, all with enough stretch to hold their shape. Nike's Zenvy has a small slit at the ankle that looks sharp with sneakers. When I want the same ease in a trouser, I go for Le Bop's Arden in a satin or soft weave, the Reformation Elara in pink, or the Alice + Olivia plaid wide leg, and wear them with a fitted knit and flat shoes. Pick one pair with a hem long enough to just skim the floor in your usual shoe.
