Frill Factor

Frill Factor

Ruffled tops, frilled blouses and soft volume for anyone who wants a plain outfit to feel more personal. Wear them with simple denim or trousers.

Ruffles are the easiest way I know to make a plain pair of jeans feel like an outfit. I like them small and soft, a collar or a cuff, and I let the top do all the talking. The DÔEN Henri top in salt or alice blue is my pick for a morning that needs a little romance, and I wear it with straight leg denim and flat shoes.

For evenings I go bolder, like the Ganni frill blouse or the Alice + Olivia Bernice with its high collar and printed sleeves. The Zara cape top and the Norma Kamali ruffle bodysuit are the ones I tuck into a skirt or high trousers. Michael Kors makes a square neck ruffle top that works under a blazer, and the MOTHER Raquette polo is for days when you want ruffles with a bit of sport. Keep the bottoms plain and let the volume lead.
