Funny Bunny is OPI's soft, sheer milky white, the shade people ask for when they want clean nails that still look done. Here it is in three formats with its OPI neighbors, plus seven milky whites and sheers from other brands.

Funny Bunny, the Milky White OPI Added in 2007

A Spring Shade From 2007
Funny Bunny first appeared in 2007, in OPI's Garden Party collection for spring, according to Real Simple, and it has stayed in the core line ever since. That makes it a teenager in nail polish years, and it is still one of the shades people ask for by name.
OPI itself is older. The company traces its start to a dental supply business, Odontorium Products, run by George Schaeffer and Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, and its About page says it all started in 1981. The first 30 OPI nail colors came in 1989, and one of them was Alpine Snow, the crisp white in the grid below.
Here is why Funny Bunny has lasted. OPI describes it as a soft white creme that reads sheer and milky. Real Simple and Southern Living both make the same point: it is not a harsh paper white, it sits somewhere between stark and sheer. That balance is what makes it work for French tips, wedding nails and anyone who wants clean-looking nails without a pink tint.
The first grid is Funny Bunny in three formats, lacquer, Infinite Shine and press-on, alongside the OPI shades it is most often compared with. The second grid is seven milky whites and sheers from other brands.
My tip: Funny Bunny is sheer, so the number of coats changes the color. One coat looks like a wash of milk, two look soft white, three get close to opaque. Decide how milky you want it before you start.
Funny Bunny and Its OPI Neighbors
The first three are all Funny Bunny, just in different formats. The Nail Lacquer is the original, sheer enough to layer or wear alone, and OPI says it gets up to 7 days of wear with its 3-step system. Infinite Shine Funny Bunny is the long-wear version, gel meets lacquer, with up to 11 days of gel-like wear and no lamp. The xPRESS/ON Funny Bunny press-ons are the short set, for when you want the look in ten minutes.
Then the shades people confuse it with. OPI'm a Bubble Bunny is exactly what the name says: OPI describes it as Funny Bunny hopped into Bubble Bath, a milky, light pink sheer. Bubble Bath is the sweet candy pink so many of our mothers wore. Alpine Snow is the crisp white that OPI suggests for French tips, so it is the one to use if Funny Bunny looks too soft on your tips. Put It in Neutral is a pinkish beige, and Passion is a pale pink.
A way to combine them: one coat of Bubble Bath, then one coat of Funny Bunny on top. You get a milky pink that is softer than either one alone.
What I would skip: Funny Bunny for a classic French tip if you want a sharp white line. It is too sheer for that, and Alpine Snow gives the crisp edge.

Milky Whites From Other Brands
If you like the Funny Bunny look but want a different formula, this grid covers it.
Manucurist Green Flash in Milky White is an LED gel polish, semi-sheer and milky, with up to 21 days of wear and removal without acetone. It is plant-based and free of HEMA and TPO, which matters if gel has irritated your skin before.
Glamnetic Milk Bath is a press-on kit of short, round nails with a semi-transparent white base and a glossy finish, a close match for Funny Bunny on a short nail. Olive & June 3D Milky Swirls is the more playful press-on, a milky white with a raised swirl pattern in a medium oval.
Then four Olive & June Quick Dry shades, all in the milky family. Clouds is an off-white neutral and the closest to Funny Bunny here. Puffball is a milky pink sheer. Dreamy leans into a cool, sheer pastel lavender. Milkshake is a sheer milky pink with silver microglitter, which is lovely on toes.
A tip for sheers: paint thin coats and let each one dry for a couple of minutes. Thick coats of a sheer color look streaky, thin ones look like glass.
What I would skip: the Manucurist gel if you do not already own an LED lamp. The polish needs one to cure, so it only makes sense if the lamp is already on your shelf.

Two Coats and a Clean Edge
I think Funny Bunny lasts because it asks almost nothing of you. It suits short nails and long ones, it grows out quietly, and a chip barely shows on a sheer milky white. Start with two coats of the lacquer, and if you like it, try the Infinite Shine version for longer wear. Keep Alpine Snow nearby for the days you want a sharper white. It has been in the line since 2007, and I do not see it leaving soon.
