Genevieve Gorder and her home design collections

Genevieve Gorder is an interior designer, television host and producer, and the founder of the Genevieve Gorder brand. Her official biography says she has appeared in more than 20 lifestyle shows, is a two-time Emmy nominee, and has regularly hosted design segments at the White House. She has built a career across television and home product design.

Her home collections span rugs, textiles and wallpaper, and a children’s furniture and decor line with The Land of Nod debuted in July 2017. Away from television, she has designed for hotels, restaurants, cruise lines, cities and private clients, and has worked with Oxfam as a Sister on the Planet focused on home and human rights. That range makes her home products feel connected to a larger design practice.

Washable rugs and wallpaper for pattern from the floor up

The My Magic Carpet collaboration is a rug line designed for regular use: its one-piece styles are machine washable, and the patterns move from bird motifs and Nordic marks to lotus flowers and leaves. Flock and Nordic Weave can anchor a seating area or hall, while Hojas and Lotus bring more illustrative pattern to a room.

Tempaper’s current Genevieve Gorder range lists Feather Flock, Intersections and Brass Belly peel-and-stick wallpapers. Gorder has described using plants and natural textures to bring earthiness into interiors. I would carry that idea into a fall or winter room with one patterned wall and a graphic rug, leaving other surfaces quiet.

Where I would start with Genevieve Gorder’s home collection

I would begin with a Flock Kettle Black rug, then use one Tempaper Feather Flock print on a smaller wall. The washable rug format keeps the room practical for everyday life. Leave the other surfaces quiet so the pattern has room to register.
