Jason Bolden's style language: a personal point of view in every piece

Jason Bolden built his career across luxury retail, celebrity styling and creative direction. An early turning point came when Gabrielle Union asked him to dress her for Art Basel, where he chose a vintage Lanvin column dress.

His client work spans Cynthia Erivo, Josh O'Connor and Nicole Kidman, and his styling follows the person rather than a fixed formula. In Vogue's account of O'Connor's press tour, Bolden paired a Lemaire knit with a patterned shirt, then moved through The Row, Dries Van Noten and Simone Rocha with Studio Nicholson and Jacques Marie Mage details.

The designer connections behind his red carpet work

His client work spans distinct designer signatures: Cynthia Erivo's Balmain and Fendi looks, Yara Shahidi's Bottega Veneta after-party dress and Sabrina Carpenter's Paco Rabanne gown. Jason also worked with Tory Burch on a gown for Sasha Lane.

For fall and winter, I followed those links into wool coats and sharp jackets, rich knits, shearling bags and boots, leather handbags, chainmail and eyewear. Bolden has named Tom Ford among the designers he loves, and styled an Oscar de la Renta launch film starring Cara Delevingne, giving this edit an additional campaign connection.

Where I would start with Jason Bolden's style

I would begin with one strong coat or jacket, then keep the base layers soft and simple. A cashmere knit or shearling accessory adds texture while eyewear or a leather bag keeps the look personal. Bolden's best styling idea is that every choice should build the client's own point of view.
