Juicy Couture Perfume, from Velour Tracksuits to Viva La Juicy

Juicy Couture Perfume, from Velour Tracksuits to Viva La Juicy

Juicy Couture perfume is the tracksuit brand's sweeter, louder second act, and Viva La Juicy is the one that made it famous. Here are twelve bottles and one sampler, from berries and caramel to cacao and champagne pink.

Juicy Couture started with two friends who met in 1988 while working at a Los Angeles boutique. Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy began with maternity jeans, then pivoted to a well-fitted V-neck T-shirt and named the label Juicy Couture, partly because they loved the irony of calling a casual brand couture. The velour tracksuit followed in 2001, cut to flatter and finished with a J-shaped zipper pull, and it became the uniform of a decade. The brand later added a fragrance line, and Viva La Juicy arrived in 2008. It opens with wild berries and mandarin, moves through honeysuckle, gardenia and jasmine, and lands on caramel, praline, vanilla, amber and sandalwood. I think of it as the tracksuit translated into scent: loud, soft and unbothered about it. It is why Juicy Couture perfume still means Viva La Juicy to most people, and the brand made Angel Reese the face of that fragrance in 2025. Grid one is the original and three of its offshoots, from the darker Noir to the whipped cream and cocoa of Sucré.

Cacao, amber and bubbles

Grid two is where Juicy Couture stops repeating itself. Just Moi opens with magnolia, cacao blossom and plum nectar and dries down to cacao bean, vanilla and sandalwood, so it is a chocolate scent that behaves like a floral. Just Moi Intense pushes that toward amber and vanilla. Viva La Juicy Elixir keeps the wild berry and gardenia of the original and adds a floral amber depth, and Le Bubbly goes bright, with champagne-inspired pink berries and blood orange. If you like sweet things, this is the grid where you can be specific about which kind. My test is simple. Spray the original on one wrist and Elixir on the other, and check them again after three hours. Juicy Couture markets Elixir as the longer-lasting take on the original, so see whether your wrist agrees.

The rest of the shelf

Grid three widens the lens. Viva La Juicy Rosé sits closest to the family, with jasmine and pink blossoms over amber. Oui is the fresh outlier, with a tart watermelon and lemon opening before jasmine and tuberose. I Love Juicy Couture is fruity, then jasmine and pink honeysuckle, and it finishes on patchouli and musk, which gives it the most grown-up base of the bunch. The four-piece set is the sampler, four small bottles of Viva La Juicy scents, and it is how I would choose. A gourmand perfume can be lovely on paper and overwhelming on skin, and a berry perfume like this one changes over an afternoon. What I would skip is committing to a full bottle after one sniff at a counter. Wear a mini for a whole day, including the dry-down at dinner, and only then decide.

How I would shop it

If you only take a scent home from this list, make it the one you can imagine wearing on an ordinary Tuesday. Viva La Juicy is the reference point, and the flankers are variations on its mood: darker, sparkling, more intense or more cocoa. The brand's whole idea was that a casual thing could have some ceremony to it, and fragrance suits that idea better than a tracksuit ever did. Pick one, spray it lightly, and let it be a small party. If you want to keep browsing, I also put together La Belle Perfume, Gaultier's Pear and Vanilla Torso and La Bomba Perfume Is Carolina Herrera Going Pink on Purpose.
