June Ambrose Stylist Style: Style-letics Shoes and Designer Picks for Fall
Shop her Naturalizer collaboration and the designer shoes she wears, with a music-video eye for movement and scale.
Who is June Ambrose
June Ambrose is a stylist, costume designer and creative director whose career spans more than 25 years. She designed costumes for Hype Williams' Belly and styled videos for Missy Elliott, P. Diddy and Jay-Z; the inflatable look for Missy's The Rain turned a music-video character into a whole new silhouette.
She began in theater, where clothes helped her build characters, and she has described her approach as focusing on the person rather than following a trend. That is what makes me return to her work: each choice feels like part of the story, from the proportions to the shoes.

June Ambrose builds a sportswear story in shoes
PUMA's work placed her ideas in women's sport. She started with the brand in 2020 as creative director of Women's Hoops, and PUMA's official newsroom describes her Scuderia Ferrari collection as a fusion of fashion and motorsport. The High Court collection and her later sportswear projects put that style story on the court and beyond.
Now Naturalizer's FW26 drop, The Pursuit, brings her style-letics into everyday footwear, with Zeva and Zyra at the center. In her own wardrobe, she has named Sacai, Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçons, Margiela Tabis and an Off-White hat; the Times also pictured her in Gucci and Acne Studios. I would start in that mix of movement, scale and high-fashion shoes.

Where I would start with June Ambrose's style
Start with one lace-up Zyra pump, then add a Tabi boot for a sharper change of pace. Keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the shoes carry the mix of sport and character. That feels like a June Ambrose move: a little theater, a lot of intention.
