Long leather coats, maxi skirts, dresses and tall boots in brown and black. A guide to wearing faux and real leather in one long, clean line.

Long leather is the one trend I keep buying into because it works in every season. A coat that hits mid calf, a skirt that skims the boot and a dress that falls to the ankle all give you the same long, clean line. I like them best in chocolate brown and black, with a plain knit on top.

 

Start with a trench: the Bardot Milana in dark brown and the Avec Les Filles belted maxi both look quiet over jeans or a slip dress. For skirts, the A.L.C. Marta and the L'AGENCE Nolina are both slim and sit just above a tall boot, which is how I would wear them. Then finish with Favorite Daughter's Lila or the Staud Wally, depending on whether you want a clean line or something with texture.
