A men's edit built on matte trousers, soft fleeces and flat canvas in deep earth tones. For the guy who wants to look put together without a single glossy detail.

Matte is the quietest way I know to dress well. No shine, no logos shouting, just flat canvas, chalky cotton and fleece that soaks up the light. I start with trousers because they set the whole tone, and the NN07 Aden chino in Capers and the Aden corduroy in Dark Army are exactly the dusty greens and browns I reach for first.

 

On top I like the Barbour Transport Fleece in sage and the Maison Kitsuné fleece in noble beige, both soft enough to wear over a plain tee all fall. Canada Goose makes a good dark fleece bomber if you want something a little sharper. Keep the shoes simple, keep the colors in the same earth family, and let the texture do the talking.
