Minimal Pull

Minimal Pull

Pleated trousers, clean dresses and a stone trench in a quiet palette of stone, black and cacao. For anyone who wants fewer, better pieces.

Minimal does not mean boring, it means every piece has to be right. I stay in stone, black and cacao, and let the shape do the talking. A pleated wide leg trouser is where I start. Theory's cacao pair and Helmut Lang's grey double pleat are both roomy enough to wear with a fitted knit, and IRO's flowy black pair works with flat shoes or a heel.

For dresses I keep to clean lines, like the ba&sh Bamaya wrap in beige or Shoshanna's Wells in black lace, which is dressy but still quiet. A cropped trench in stone goes over anything, and Reiss's drape midi in cocoa needs only a pair of simple sandals. The trick is to pick one texture per outfit and keep the palette tight.
