Florals feel new again when the placement is bold and the colors are a little unexpected. I look for a print that does something, like the big orchid sweeping down MILLY's satin maxi, the tumbling fruit on SIR.'s silk maxi, or the dark roses on Alice + Olivia's flare mini.

 

For softer days, Tularosa's blush ruffle maxi and Bec + Bridge's embroidered column read romantic without being sweet. If a full dress is too much, a Ulla Johnson skirt or LoveShackFancy's Castle skirt with a plain white tee does the same job. Keep shoes simple and let the print lead.
