Naturium body wash comes in eleven formulas, from The Perfector with salicylic acid to The Calmer with ceramides. Several of them, including both of those, can also be used as a facial cleanser, so the bottle is more flexible than its name suggests.
Naturium Body Wash, From Salicylic to Ceramide

Susan Yara was a journalist turned YouTuber, known for her channel Mixed Makeup, when she founded Naturium in 2019 with the beauty incubator The Center, led by Ben Bennett. She wanted a serious, ingredient-focused line that people would not see as an influencer brand, and it appeared quietly on Amazon in October 2019 before its own site launched in February 2020. Naturium's pitch is biocompatible, pH-balanced formulas for face and body. Each Naturium body wash is named for its job: The Perfector uses salicylic acid for rough, bumpy or breakout-prone skin, The Smoother uses glycolic acid, The Calmer relies on ceramides for dry or sensitive skin, and The Glow Getter is a multi-oil hydrating wash. The second row adds The Revealer with sulfur, The Energizer with mandelic acid, The Purifier with niacinamide and The Booster with hyaluronic acid. Leave the acid washes on for a minute before rinsing so they have time to work, and alternate them with the gentler ones. If you shave, keep the acid washes for non-shaving days. Pick by skin concern, not scent, since these are treatment formulas first.

Naturium Body Wash, Answered
Eleven formulas, each with one job. Naturium lists eleven body washes on its own site. The Perfector uses encapsulated salicylic acid for pores, The Calmer uses ceramides and colloidal oatmeal for dry, itchy skin, The Revealer uses 2% colloidal sulfur and The Energizer uses mandelic acid. Pick by the job, not the scent.
Using one on your face. Naturium says The Perfector and The Calmer can also be used as a facial cleanser. If your face is sensitive, I would keep the acid washes for the body and patch test before trying one above the neck.
Bar or liquid. Naturium sells its body washes as liquids in pump bottles, and nothing on its site is listed as a bar or a soap. The choice here is between formulas, not formats: the acid washes exfoliate, while The Calmer and The Booster lean toward comfort.
Not an intimate wash. Naturium makes these washes for body skin, and none is sold as an intimate or feminine wash. I would keep the acid formulas, salicylic, glycolic and mandelic, away from sensitive areas, and ask a doctor what suits you there.
Four treatment washes
Nécessaire, named for the question of whether something is necessary, makes a fragrance-free body wash with niacinamide, five ceramides and hyaluronic acid. Its Hinoki version adds AHA, BHA and PHA for smoother skin. Amy Liu, a beauty marketer with lifelong eczema, named Tower 28 after a lifeguard tower in Santa Monica, and SOS Rescue + Relief soothes irritated skin; the brand says its whole range follows the National Eczema Association's ingredient guidelines. Leslie Tessler named Hanni after her youngest daughter, starting with shaving before adding the Rich Rinse moisture serum wash with glycerin, aloe and coconut water.

Gentle and scented, and the skip
Jen Atkin's Ouai brings its Dean Street scent to a gentle wash, and Soft Services, which calls itself the first targeted body-care company for concerns like keratosis pilaris and body acne, makes Comfort Cleanse for sensitive and intimate skin. Claudia Sulewski's Cyklar makes Sacred Santal, an oil-infused wash, and Sol de Janeiro's Bom Dia Bright is a clarifying wash with AHA and BHA, so I treat it more like the treatment washes than the gentle ones. What I would skip is using an acid wash on sensitive or intimate areas. Keep the gentle formulas for those, and the treatment washes for back, chest and legs.
A better shower
Use lukewarm water and keep showers short. Apply wash with hands or a soft cloth, not a rough loofah. Rinse conditioner out before you use body wash, since residue can clog pores on the back. Moisturize within a few minutes of drying off. For persistent breakouts or a rash, see a dermatologist before trying more products.
If you would rather have scent than a treatment, I wrote about the Fresh Cream body wash and the other philosophy shower gels.
