This Nike P-6000 edit covers the silver, white, colorful and black pairs, plus the Vomero 5 and other early-2000s Nike runners that sit next to it. I like it because it is a shoe that never existed and still looks like a memory.

Nike P-6000: The 2019 Runner That Looks Straight Out of 2006
A shoe that never existed, on purpose
The Nike P-6000 debuted in 2019 as a hybrid of the Pegasus 25 and the Pegasus 2006. HiConsumption puts it neatly: it is a shoe that never technically existed in the 2000s, yet looks like it walked straight out of them. Nike calls the result a mash-up of Pegasus' past, and the Pegasus itself goes back to 1983, when the franchise first laced up.
That is the part I like. Nobody dug up an old mold and reissued it. Nike took two mid-aughts runners and stitched them into one new shoe: breathable mesh, horizontal and vertical overlays, a foam midsole, a rubber outsole. The tongue ribbon even reads Bowerman Series, a quiet nod to the Nike co-founder. It lands right in the Y2K runner moment, the chunky, textured, slightly futuristic look that has been creeping back into outfits for a few seasons now. I went deeper on a related idea in Nike V5 RNR: The Y2K Runner Built for Ordinary Days.
Silver is where the P-6000 makes the most sense, so that is where this edit starts. I would pick the silver, blue and white pair first for anyone who wants the shoe to be the loudest thing on the page, and the white, metallic silver and elemental pink one for a softer take. The grey fog and cool grey pair has mirrored overlays that read almost like chrome, while the white, grain and metallic gold version is the one I would wear with cream trousers. The sail and linen pair, with its champagne overlays, works with a camel coat in October.
A simple test: set the shoe next to your jeans in daylight. Metallic overlays shift a lot between a bright window and a hallway, so decide whether you want a mirror or a whisper. For a first pair, I would go with the whisper.

Beyond silver: white, pink and bronze
Silver is the headline, but the shoe's real range shows up once the metallic gets quieter. RunRepeat's review calls the P-6000 true to size, so you can order the way you would any Nike without a long debate about half sizes.
The white and silver pair is the cleanest of the bunch, a white mesh with silver overlays that sits happily under a gray flannel trouser. The white, white and off white version is more muted still, with green-gray trim on the midsole that I would pair with a stone trench. If you want a color that is not silver at all, the sail, aster pink and black pair has a coral swoosh that wakes up navy denim, and the summit white, peony, team crimson pair is the brightest thing here, pink overlays and a crimson swoosh included.
Then there are the warm ones. The white, blur and sanddrift pair has tan and bronze overlays, and the velvet brown, ridgerock pair, espresso mesh with metallic bronze, looks sharp with a chocolate knit and straight-leg jeans in October. The purple dynasty pair, with taupe and mauve overlays and a plum swoosh, is the one I would wear with gray tights and a pleated skirt.
Fitting-room test: Nike's page lists a leather, textile and synthetic upper, so check the toe overlay for creasing where your foot bends and tie the laces the way you will really wear them.
What I would skip: the brightest pair if most of your closet is neutral and you want a shoe you can wear every day without thinking.

Vomero 5 in the colors of a candy aisle
The Vomero 5 is a different animal from the shoe that started this edit. It carries Zoom Air cushioning with plastic caging on the side for support, and Nike has been releasing it in colors that look like a candy aisle. It sits here as the louder cousin in the Y2K runner family.
Pink is the main event. The white, pink rise and bleached lilac pair is bubblegum mesh with lilac details, the summit white and hyper pink pair is paler with brighter overlays, and the sail, pearl and particle pink pair is a blush that goes with almost anything cream. For something less sweet, the old royal pair is a saturated blue with a pink swoosh that makes plain gray sweatpants look planned. The translucent mint pair, sail, barely green and cucumber calm, is my pick for a white tee and a pale denim skirt.
The hot pink and red pair has burgundy trim that keeps it from going full neon, and the crimson tint and hot lava pair in peach and orange is the one I would put with an olive jacket. The Air Max Moto 2K in pink rise is the odd one out, pink mesh with black overlays and silver trim, and it has a flatter, sportier look.
Practical test: look at the sole from the side in a mirror. If the midsole color and your sock color fight each other, switch to a plain white crew sock and the shoe settles down.
What I would skip: a color that has no echo in your wardrobe. Pick the one that matches a bag, a scarf or a lip color you already own.

Black runners for a gray October
By October the light goes flat and the shoes should too. This is the dark end of the Nike runner shelf, and it is mostly Vomero 5 plus one weatherproof outlier.
The Vomero Roam in all black is the practical one: a lace toggle with hook, pull tabs and a rubber HART outsole for wet-surface grip, according to its product notes. I would wear it with a long black puffer and wide trousers on a rainy commute. The Vomero 5 in chrome and black is the dressier choice, black mesh with chrome overlays that catch a streetlight. The black, black and court purple pair has deep purple panels and a silver swoosh, and the dark team red pair in black and burgundy goes with a plaid skirt and opaque tights.
If you want black that is not boring, the off noir Vomero 5 has a bright fuchsia midsole and silver trim, which is the shoe I would pick for a gray wool coat. The gray and stealth pair is the quietest one, slate mesh with tonal overlays, while the black Air Max Moto 2K with silver overlays leans sportier and skinnier.
Buying test: tilt each pair under a lamp. Black mesh hides scuffs, but metallic overlays show every scratch, so decide how precious you want to be.
What I would skip: the all-black pair for a very formal office, where the chunky sole will still read as a sneaker.

The rest of the early-2000s shelf
Nike's early-2000s runners did not start and stop with one shoe, and this is the shelf for the rest of them. The look came back loudly enough that major lifestyle press now lumps this shoe and the Vomero 5 together as re-worked versions of Y2K running shoes.
The Air Pegasus 2005 in suede, pure platinum with metallic platinum overlays, is the closest cousin to the star of this edit, and a reminder of the Pegasus line it borrows from. The V2K Run in pink smoke has dual-density foam and translucent plastic accents that nod to the Vomero 5, with a burgundy swoosh and heel on white and silver mesh. The Initiator in white and cherry has a cherry-pink swoosh and a gray heel, a lighter and simpler shoe than the rest.
Vomero 5 shows up in quieter metals here: photon dust and metallic silver with a baby-blue midsole, a gray and gold pair with champagne tones, and a sand and hemp pair with a metallic gold swoosh. The soft pink midsole version is the one I would pair with a gray hoodie. The Air Max Moto 2K in pure platinum is pale silver mesh with chrome overlays and a black swoosh.
Test before you commit: hold two pairs side by side and look at how tall each sole is. The Vomero is chunkier, the Initiator slimmer, and that tells you which jeans hem each will suit.
What I would skip: stacking three metallics in one outfit. One silver shoe is plenty.

How I would pick a pair
I would start with the shoe, not the color. Nike says it has a foam midsole and a leather, textile and synthetic upper, and the true to size reviews mean you can order without overthinking it.
Then choose the finish. Mirror silver if you dress loudly, champagne or white and silver if you want something that goes with a camel coat. If you already own a pair, the Vomero 5 is the logical second, in black for a rainy week.
It is a lifestyle shoe, not a marathon shoe, and Nike does not pretend otherwise. It is a runner that was never actually born in 2006, and somehow it is the one that looks most like it.
