Paris Texas Boots Do Western Without The Costume Shop

Paris Texas boots take a Western shape and make it Italian, from the Vera ankle boot to the Bettina tall boot. Named after a Wim Wenders film, the label mostly meets the expectation, and I sort the ankle, tall and harness styles.

A Western Shape, Made In Italy

The label launched in 2015 from Italy with a clear proposition: take the visual language of American Western boots, the harness, the toe cap, the tall shaft, and execute it with Italian construction and a much sharper last. That is a specific kind of translation and it works because the two traditions have almost nothing in common. American boots are built for durability and Italian ones for line. The name, taken from the 1984 film, signals the same collision, and it is a genuinely good one to build a shoe brand on.

Ankle, Tall And Harness

Vera toe cap ankle boots and Lidia suede ankle boots are the shortest pieces and the most versatile. Bettina appears as both a tall boot and an ankle bootie, which makes it the most flexible model in the line. Jane 60 tall boots and Anja tall boots are the full-length options and the most dramatic of these paris texas boots. Roxy harness boots are the most literal Western reference in the group, and the Rose snake embossed ankle booties are the most decorated.

Here are more Paris Texas boots in suede and leather. A sharp toe and a stacked heel are what make the style.

Before you order

Tall boots are a calf measurement problem rather than a foot size problem, and Italian lasts run narrow through the shaft, so measure the widest part of your calf before ordering. A boot that fits the foot and not the calf cannot be fixed without a cobbler adding a gusset.

Suede ankle boots need protector spray before the first wear and still will not survive rain, snake embossing lifts at the toe crease over time, and stacked heels on Western shapes wear unevenly at the outside edge, so have a cobbler add heel tips early. Measure your calf first, because that is what sends a tall boot back. If you want to keep browsing, I also put together Catwoman Costume and Thigh High Boots, Minus the Costume Problem.
