Glossy patent shoes and bags for anyone who wants one shiny piece to carry an outfit. Wear it with denim, tailoring or a plain tee.

Patent is the quickest way I know to make a plain outfit look planned. A glossy pump with jeans and a white tee, or a black patent bag with a gray suit, and suddenly the whole thing has a point of view. I like to pick one shiny piece per outfit and keep everything else matte.

 

For shoes, the Christian Louboutin So Kate is the pump people picture, and Tom Ford's ankle strap does the same job with a bit more edge. The Saint Laurent Vendome slingback and the Gucci Signora loafer pump are what I would wear to work. On the bag side, Zadig&Voltaire's Jack and the Tory Burch Ella tote are big enough for a real day. Wipe patent with a soft cloth after wearing it and it keeps its shine for years.
