This Scuffers edit follows the Madrid label's women's line, from low-rise pants and layered long sleeves to skirts, cropped jackets and knits. I picked what I would reach for first as the weather turns.

Scuffers: The Madrid Streetwear Label Two Neighbors Started at 16
How Scuffers began in Madrid
In 2018, two Madrid teenagers, Jaime Cruz and Javier López, aged 16 and 17, started a clothing label. It began with T-shirts printed at a local screen-printing shop, and the pair wanted hoodies that looked different from what they saw on the street. That is the whole origin of Scuffers, and I like how unfussy it is. I went deeper on a related idea in Zimmermann: The Sydney Label Two Sisters Started in 1991.
What I find interesting is how much of that neighborhood spirit stayed. The brand calls its community FF FAM, Friends and Family, and its motto is As Always, With Love. The look mixes global streetwear codes, washed fabrics, oversized shapes and visible graphics, with a southern-European touch. That is the lens for this edit, and it is women's only, so it starts with pants.
In my fashion dreams, she is walking across Madrid in October in the Tane ecru pants, low-rise and straight, with a crinkled finish and small buckles at the waist. They are the quiet ones. Next to them, the Ventus brown pants are flared denim with a slim thigh, and I would wear them with a fitted dark top and chunky boots. The Alana pants come in blue with knee rips and in black with knee slits, both wide-leg and relaxed, so they suit anyone who wants room in the leg.
The Capri green pants are dark olive utility pants with a cuffed, stacked hem and patch pockets, which is my pick for a weekend away. For lighter days there is the City yellow cargo pair in pale butter. Try the waist sitting low on your hip bones before you decide, since most of these are cut that way, and check the hem length with the shoes you actually plan to wear.

Long sleeves for layering under a tee
Layering is the whole idea here, and the founders built the brand around pieces you can mix. Many of these tops fake a long-sleeve layer under a short-sleeve graphic, so you get two looks in a single piece. The brand also leans on washed fabrics and oversized fits, but these tops run closer to the body.
The Formula dark and camo longsleeve is a fitted olive top with camo-print sleeves, and I would wear it with the Capri green pants for a full forest day. The Lili red longsleeve is a white baby tee with burgundy raglan sleeves and a swoosh graphic, and the Sweet Moon pink longsleeve is a cream raglan with pale pink sleeves and a small chest logo. Both would sit well with the Ventus brown pants. The Aby gray longsleeve and the Stat striped longsleeve in navy and burgundy are the stripe-and-graphic ones. The Tane camo longsleeve is a sheer mesh top with cut-out panels, so I would put it over a plain tank.
The test: stretch your arms forward in the fitting room and check that the raglan seam sits at the shoulder without pulling. Also look at where the sleeve ends against your wrist, because a layered look only works when the cuff lands where you expect.
What I would skip: the sheer camo mesh if you want something to wear alone on a cold morning, since it needs a layer underneath.

Mini skirts and one long nylon one
Skirts are where the label gets playful, with the washed, oversized and graphic codes turned toward drape and pattern. These low-rise minis lean on texture, drape and pattern rather than plain fabric.
The Cendalla ecru skirt is a bubble mini with a button waistband, and I would style it with the Lili red longsleeve and white sneakers. The Samanta brown skirt is asymmetric with a draped cargo-style front, and the Soul terracotta skirt is a wrap mini with side drawstring ties. The Lara skirt is patchwork washed denim with a tan panel, and the Label light blue denim skirt is simpler, with tan leather belt loops. For October, the Pleat blue checkered wrap skirt and the Tartan midi skirt in brown and orange, with its ruffled tiers, work best with tights and a knee boot. The Sports Tech navy skirt is a nylon maxi with white and green stripes, and it is the one I would wear with a plain hoodie.
The test: sit down, then walk. A low-rise mini should stay put when you move, and a wrap tie should not gape at the hip. Turn it from the side to check the hem is even.
What I would skip: the bubble hem in a windy city if you dislike adjusting, and the drawstring wrap on a day with a long coat, since the bulk adds up.
Scuffers jackets and a puffer for fall
Outerwear is the part of the brand that proves why the founders needed more than one factory. They moved beyond Portugal once the range grew to pants, coats and shirts. For these jackets, I like that most are cropped, so they sit nicely over those low-rise pants.
The Ambar dark jacket is a cropped olive piece with a belted wrap closure and structured shoulders, and the Ambar camel jacket is its oversized, trench-style cousin with a wide collar. The Alana blue jacket is faded denim with a double-breasted front, matching the Alana pants for a full denim set. The Avint brown jacket has a lace-up front with fabric buttons. For something lighter, the Cake blue jacket is a pale zip-up with a stand collar, and the Lucky jacket is a white cropped bomber with an elastic hem. When it turns cold, the Donatello light gray puffer has a cream sherpa collar, and the Checkered brown Harrington has a faux-fur collar and ribbed hem.
The test: raise both arms in the fitting room. A cropped jacket should not lift much above your waistband, and the shoulders should not pull. Check how the belt or zip sits when closed.
What I would skip: the white bomber for a commute in wet weather, and the camel one if you want a jacket that layers over a thick knit.
Knits with texture, zips and a brown half-zip
Knitwear is the category the founders themselves point to for what sells out. In an interview, Jaime Cruz said the distressed-detail sweaters in navy, off-white and brown went so fast that even a department store in London asked where to find one. I would keep that in mind when choosing.
The Tap pink knit is a pointelle top with a layered long-sleeve underlayer, and the Tap brown knit is a gray ribbed top with brown sleeves. The Cambodia Holes navy zipper knit has diamond cut-outs, and the B-Air light blue zipper is a sheer ribbed cardigan, so I would wear it over a tank. The Claude burgundy knit has a large number 6 on pink, while the Agnes brown knit has a folded collar and half-zip. The Handmade yellow knit is soft with contrast stitching, and the Blend ecru knit has a tonal brushed swoosh. Pair the ecru one with the Tartan midi skirt.
The test: pinch the knit at the hem and see if it springs back, and hold it up to the light to see how open the stitch is. Fold knits instead of hanging them to keep the shoulders from stretching.
What I would skip: the sheer cardigan as your only layer outside in October, and the cut-out zip knit on a day that needs real warmth.
My first Scuffers outfit for colder days
I would pick the pants first, probably the Tane ecru or the Capri green, since they set the mood. Then a long-sleeve top, one knit with a zip, and a cropped jacket that sits above the waistband. Check the fit at the hip and the shoulder, and only then think about the skirt.
Scuffers began with two neighbors, a local screen printer and a wish for a hoodie that looked different, and I still like that the clothes keep that little streak of the neighborhood. If you are building a first small outfit from the label, that is also a good order to follow, bottom half first and layers after. As always, with love, as their motto says.
