Sharp Basics

Sharp Basics

Wide leg trousers and blazers that anchor everyday outfits. For anyone building a closet of clean, tailored basics.

Basics only work when the cut is right. I would rather own a few sharp pieces than a closet of near misses, and for me that means a good wide leg trouser and a blazer that fits through the shoulder. Theory's high waist trousers in navy go with everything from a plain white tee to a silk top. Vince's pinstripe pair looks like a suit bottom, so I keep the top half simple.

For a blazer, Favorite Daughter's Madison Avenue is the one to wear over jeans or with matching pants, and Lioness makes a looser version if you want room for a sweater. When I want a softer texture, FRAME's corduroy in taupe or LE BOP's olive pair does the work. Hem them to just touch the floor in your usual shoe, and the whole outfit looks planned.
