Sheer Balance

Sheer Balance

Lightweight sheer layers styled with something solid, so the look has contrast without feeling overexposed. For anyone who wants to try sheer in a way that works on a regular day.

Sheer only feels wearable to me when something solid sits next to it. A see-through blouse over a plain camisole, a mesh top tucked into leather trousers, a gauzy shirt buttoned over a bralette: the structure is what keeps it from feeling like too much.

The Marcella pearl top does this on its own, with a solid yoke and sheer sleeves. For work I would wear the LILYSILK shirt with its soft sleeves tucked into black trousers, or the LE BOP organza button down open over a tank. Helmut Lang's twist top and the ALLSAINTS Athea tee are what I reach for on weekends with straight jeans. When I want a little lace, the L'AGENCE Dorothea blouse looks best with one plain thing underneath and a sleek pant on the bottom.
