SIX THE RESIDENCE is a furniture brand launched during the pandemic by a team that had supplied bespoke pieces to restaurants, bars and hotels. I go through its velvet, jacquard and bouclé poufs, and why the extra seat or footrest matters most.

SIX THE RESIDENCE: Velvet, Jacquard and Bouclé Poufs
A Better Place to Put Your Feet
SIX THE RESIDENCE launched during the pandemic, drawing on experience supplying bespoke furniture to restaurants, bars and hotels. The founders wanted a middle ground between high-design pieces and disposable decoration, so the first collection kept classic shapes and gave them better fabrics. These poufs make the point in velvet jacquard, bouclé, wood and fringe, with enough presence to work as seating or as a low, useful table.
Our honest take
Our honest take: a pouf is only good if it earns its space when nobody is admiring it. These have the texture and color to become a room’s punctuation mark, but their real value is the extra seat, footrest or landing place they provide. If you take one thing away, choose the fabric that will still make sense when the room changes around it.
