Soft Goat is the Stockholm knitwear label Stephanie Bergström and Erik Magnusson started in 2011, built around cashmere you actually wear. I want one good knit to carry me through the whole season, so this edit is all sweaters, cardigans and one very sensible balaclava.

Soft Goat Knitwear: Cashmere Pieces to Know
The question that started Soft Goat
I love a brand that begins with a slightly nosy dinner conversation. In 2010, friends Stephanie Bergström and Erik Magnusson were talking about the cashmere sweater he had on, and they wondered why something so nice was treated as a special-occasion indulgence. A year later, in 2011, the Stockholm label was born. Their own story goes back to that conversation and to a closet meant to stay in use across seasons.
The simplicity is the point, but never the whole story. Soft Goat works from a Scandinavian palette and clean silhouettes, then gives a knit something personal through a marled yarn, an oversized shape or a flash of color. Bergström calls it expressive minimalism, and I think that is a fair description. I also like that the brand talks about a piece staying in rotation, not dressing for one occasion.
For me that explains the balance here: a Swedish label with a clear cashmere idea and an everyday knit at its center.

Cashmere, with room to play
I come to this edit for the kind of knit that holds its own without asking to be the whole outfit. The Brushed Cardigan has a softly blurred texture I would wear over a clean tank, while the Girlfriend Turtleneck Pullover and Girlfriend Turtleneck make the neckline the focal point. The Chunky V-neck Sweater opens up the collar, and the Alpaca Cardigan and plain Cardigan are the relaxed layers.
The next few are about shape as much as softness: the Brushed Crewneck Pullover, Brushed Crewneck Sweater, Argyle Cardigan and Double Faced Crewneck Pullover. Picture her stepping out on a Stockholm morning in the Marled Relaxed Fit Turtleneck, straight trousers and a polished flat. The Brushed Boyfriend Turtleneck is the cozier cousin. My practical note: choose one oversized layer and keep the rest of the silhouette neat.

The softer side of the knit closet
This group is the quiet counterpoint to the big sweaters. The Cashmere Top is an easy start for a simple layered look, the Brushed Boyfriend Crewneck brings a relaxed mood, and the Classic Crewneck is the one I would reach for when I want a knit to settle into a weekday uniform. Even the Balaclava feels like a small styling decision rather than a novelty.
Picture her tying her hair back, pulling the Balaclava on over a charcoal coat and heading out before the city wakes. I would pair the softer knits with denim or a long straight skirt. What I would skip is a second bulky layer, so the fabric and shape have room to breathe.

A good knit, kept close
What stays with me is the coherence. Soft Goat began with a question about cashmere, and the answer is still visible in how it treats knitwear as part of everyday dressing. I would start with one crewneck or cardigan and let it become the piece I reach for through changing weather. The label has grown beyond that first idea, but it still trusts texture, proportion and a little Scandinavian restraint to do the talking, although I admit the Balaclava might get there first.
