Tarte Color Corrector Under Eye: The CC Peach and Its Family

Tarte's color corrector under eye is the CC undereye corrector, a peach cream for dark circles that comes in Light-Medium Peach. I go through eight tarte correctors and concealers, plus eight under-eye correctors and brighteners from other brands.

Magazine-style product test page with five cut-out products and a best-for note on each: tarte CC full coverage undereye color corrector; tarte shape tape full coverage matte concealer; tarte maracuja creaseless full coverage radiant undereye concealer; HUDA BEAUTY #FauxFilter Brightening Under Eye Color Corrector; Saie Hydrabeam Hydrating & Concealing Under Eye Brightener

From a Cheek Stain to Shape Tape

tarte's own timeline begins in 1999, when founder Maureen Kelly launched what the brand calls the OG cheek stain. The company lists 2016 as the year the original shape tape launched and went viral, and it says that concealer was inspired by Kelly's experience with cystic acne. The brand also says shape tape turns 10 in 2026. So a company that began with a blush stain became best known for hiding things, which tells you how much tarte thinks about coverage. I find that useful, because correcting and concealing are really two jobs, and the brand sells tools for both.

That is useful context for the tarte cc undereye corrector. It is a multitasking, full-coverage color corrector, the step that goes under concealer, and it is a separate product from the shape tape line. The color theory is simple. L'Oreal Paris's guide says colors opposite each other on the wheel cancel each other out, and that peach works on bluish or gray circles for lighter skin while orange suits medium to deep skin.

Correct first, conceal second. Skip this step if your circles are mild and a brightening concealer already does the job. A tiny amount of peach where the circle is darkest, patted not rubbed, then concealer over the top.

The first grid is eight tarte correctors and concealers. The second grid is eight other under-eye correctors and brighteners from other brands. My tip: start with a grain of rice of corrector per eye, because too much peach turns orange.

Eight tarte Correctors and Concealers

The CC undereye color corrector is the hero here. It is a cream with medium coverage and a natural finish, with light-diffusing particles meant to brighten the delicate skin under the eye. The shade in this edit is Light-Medium Peach. If you want a liquid corrector, tarte also makes the maracuja creaseless creamy color corrector, with cloudberry, diamond powder and maracuja oil, and the shape tape hydrating color corrector, a full-coverage peach with squalane, ginseng and hyaluronic acid.

Then the concealers, which depend on your skin. The shape tape full coverage matte concealer is for oily or combination skin, with a matte finish and up to 16-hour wear. The shape tape hydrating creamy concealer has a built-in eye cream, so it is the one for dry skin. The shape tape blurring concealer stick is a waterproof stick with medium coverage and a matte finish, easy to tuck in a bag.

The maracuja range is more radiant. The maracuja creaseless radiant undereye concealer has full coverage in 30 shades and an applicator that wants just one dot, and the maracuja creaseless creamy liquid concealer is medium and natural, the more everyday option.

What I would skip: the matte shape tape under dry, crepey eyes. It will look thirsty there, so go for the hydrating version or the radiant maracuja.

Eight Under-Eye Correctors and Brighteners

This grid is for people who want a lighter touch than a full-coverage layer. HUDA BEAUTY FauxFilter is a lightweight liquid corrector with vitamin C and niacinamide that is described as crease-, sweat- and transfer-proof. Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wearing Color Corrector Stick is a stick with medium coverage and a natural finish, and it is the neatest one for travel. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Vanish is a buttery, full-coverage cream, the fullest-coverage corrector here.

Kosas Revealer Extra Bright is a serum-powered corrector with caffeine and hyaluronic acid for dark circles and puffiness. caliray Hideaway is a lightweight, serum-like corrector with peptides and three hyaluronic acids and a radiant finish. Saie Hydrabeam is a light-coverage brightener with cucumber extract, and Rare Beauty Positive Light is a sheer liquid brightener for a quick wake-up. Both are for people who want a glow instead of a patch of color.

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Setting Powder is the odd one. It is a loose powder in Soft Pink that color corrects lightly while setting concealer.

What I would skip: a pink or peach powder over a very full peach corrector. Too much pigment layers into a flat patch, so use the powder with a light liquid.

Match the Peach to Your Skin

I think the tarte cc undereye corrector is the right place to start if your circles read blue or gray and you want real coverage. Pick the shade to match your tone, and move to orange if peach looks pale on you. If you want only brightness, the second grid has lighter options, and you can always layer a concealer over either one. Whatever you choose, pat with a finger and let it sit before concealer, then check yourself in daylight before you leave the house, since bathroom light hides a lot.
