A tech layer is the thing I put on first and then forget about. I want a close neck, a quarter zip or a smooth crew, and a dark color that goes under anything. The On Climate half-zip is the one I would wear on a run and then to coffee, and Bogner's fleece half-zip does the same job when it is colder.

 

For days that start cool and end warm, I stack a Vuori Strato Tech tee under a jacket and peel it off later.
