A men's edit of fleeces, cargo pants and trail sneakers for layering in the city. Built for days that start cold and end warm.

Tech layering is really about being ready for a day that changes on you. I like a base I can zip, peel and pack, and the pieces here do that without looking like hiking gear. Start with a fleece, like the Nike ACG zip or Barbour's Transport in sage, and put it under something with a bit of weather in it, such as the Canada Goose fleece bomber.

 

The cargo pants do the quiet work. Carhartt WIP's Kade and the Levi's Extra Baggy both sit loose enough to wear over a trail sneaker, and Y-3's black pair looks sharp with a plain fleece. Salomon's XT-6 and Saucony's ProGrid finish things off, and Wax London's reversible fleece gives you two colors in one jacket.
