The Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheet set comes in eight colors, and the color you choose changes the bedroom more than you would expect. Here is how each one looks on a bed, plus the duvets, quilts and blankets I would layer with it.
The Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set, Color by Color

It is Sunday. The sheets are fresh out of the dryer, still a little warm, and you are doing that awkward dance of tucking the fitted corner while holding the flat sheet under your chin. Then it is done, and for about five minutes the bed looks like a hotel. That five minutes is why people care so much about sheets.
The Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheet set is the one people ask about most, so here are the facts. It is 100 percent organic cotton, spun from long fibers, in a sateen weave, 300 thread count, with a wide hem on the flat sheet and pillowcases that gives the line its name. The fitted sheet fits mattresses up to 17 inches deep, which covers most of the tall ones, and a queen set comes with a flat sheet, a fitted sheet and two pillowcases. Nordstrom carries all eight colors, which makes it easy to compare them side by side.
Sateen has a soft, slightly smooth hand and a gentle sheen, warmer than a crisp percale. It drapes rather than stands up.
So the real decision is color. White is bright and clean, the hotel look. Natural is a creamy ivory, softer and warmer. Mist is the palest gray, almost white, lovely in a room with cool light. Stone is a true mid gray. Sageleaf is a pale, muted green that makes a bedroom feel like spring. Oak is a warm taupe that hides a lot, Camel is a rich tan, and Night is charcoal, the one for dark walls and dramatic headboards.

Duvets, pillowcases and the Garden print
Once you have your sheet color, the duvet cover does most of the visual work. It is the biggest surface on the bed and the one people see from the door.
The Signature Hemmed duvet sets come in their own colors. Cream is the easy match for White or Natural sheets. Meadow is a deeper green than Sageleaf, a lovely pairing if you want tone on tone. Deep Walnut is a chocolate brown that looks wonderful over Camel or Oak sheets, very seventies in the best way. Sky and Shore are soft, pale grays that sit quietly over Mist or Stone.
The set of two pillowcases in Mineral is a slate blue, and it is my favorite trick in this whole story. Add two blue pillowcases to a white or gray bed and suddenly it looks deliberate, like someone chose it rather than bought everything in one color.
Then there is the Garden print, a small, soft floral in lilac and gray. The duvet and shams set and the matching sheet set are the only pattern here, and I would use one or the other, not both. A floral duvet over plain sheets looks fresh. Floral sheets under a plain duvet are a nice surprise when you pull back the covers.
My rule for mixing colors on a bed is simple: one light, one mid, one accent. White sheets, a Sky duvet and Mineral pillowcases. Natural sheets, a Deep Walnut duvet and Camel shams. Keep the rest quiet.

Layers to finish the bed
A bed with only sheets and a duvet can look a little flat. The layers at the foot are what make it look finished, and they are also what you actually reach for on a cold night.
The Signature Texture Stitch quilt is ivory with a subtle stitched pattern, the easiest layer on any color. The Heritage quilt and sham set is a pale blue-gray, pretty over White or Mist sheets. The Waffle blanket is white and light enough for summer, and the Dream Bed blanket is a soft gray that sits well with Stone or Night.
For the foot of the bed, the Aran Cable knit throw comes in a deep olive with a chunky cable, and it looks especially good with Sageleaf or Oak. The Court knit throw is tan with a contrast border, a warm finish on a Camel bed. If you want something more substantial, the Signature comforter and shams set in sand is a full layer on its own.
Last is the Medium Down Pillow. Pillows are personal, but medium suits most back sleepers and anyone who switches positions in the night.
Folding is half the look. Fold a quilt in thirds across the bottom third of the bed rather than spreading it all the way up, and let the throw hang a little off one corner.
What I would skip: buying every piece in exactly the same color. An all-Stone bed from top to bottom tends to look like a showroom rather than a place someone sleeps.

Our honest take
I think this is a very good sheet, and the part people overthink is the part that matters least. The weave and the fabric are the same in every color, so choose with your eyes, not your anxiety.
If you take one thing away, let it be this: pick your sheet color for the walls you already have. Warm walls want Natural, Oak or Camel. Cool walls want White, Mist or Stone. Then add one pair of pillowcases or one throw in a contrasting color, and the bed will look like someone thought about it. Wash them a few times before you judge the feel, because sateen softens as it goes.
