The Feather edit

The Feather edit

An edit of everything feathered, from hem-trimmed minis and gowns to blouses, mules and boots. It is for anyone who wants texture and movement in a party outfit.

Feathers are the easiest way I know to make a simple shape feel like a night out. I like them best at the hem or the cuff, where they move when you walk and you do not need much else. The Attico mini with its black feather detail and the longer Attico gown are the two I would start with if you want a clean, graphic look.

For something softer, Lamarque's Alena mini and Bubish's pale pink Gigi blouse read romantic with plain trousers or a slip skirt. Staud's Albee and La DoubleJ's printed swing dress keep the feathers to the hem, which is how I'd wear them to a long dinner. Then there are the shoes: Paris Texas makes a feathered mule that turns jeans into an outfit, and the fluffy over-the-knee boots are for when you want to commit.
