The Travel Edit For You

A travel edit of hard shell carry-ons, weekenders, totes and pouches for anyone who packs for a long weekend or a long flight. Pick one big case, one soft bag and a few pouches to keep it all sorted.

A good trip starts with the bag you stop thinking about. For flights I like a hard shell I can toss in an overhead bin, which is why Away's Carry-On in black and the Rimowa cabin case in terracotta keep showing up in my airport photos. Calpak's Terra carry-on in lavender is the one I grab when I want my suitcase to be easy to spot on the belt.

 

For weekends I reach for softer things. The Longchamp Le Pliage folds flat in a drawer, Rains makes a waterproof weekender that handles a wet platform, and Baggu's Cloud Carry On slides over a suitcase handle when my arms are full. Then I sort everything else into pouches, like the Cuyana zipper pouch, so chargers and makeup never end up loose at the bottom.
