Warm Enough to Stay Out

Warm Enough to Stay Out

Long sleeve going out tops in black, brown and red, from sheer lace to turtleneck bodysuits. Made for cold nights when you still want to look dressed up.

Going out in winter always comes down to the same problem: the tops that look good at night are usually the thinnest ones. My fix is sleeves, and lots of them. A sheer lace top like the Lioness Midnight Lace or the AKNVAS Freja gives you coverage and a little drama, and it layers over a bodysuit if the restaurant turns out to be drafty.

For something sleeker I wear a turtleneck bodysuit, such as the Commando ballet version in truffle or Fleur du Mal's scoop neck in cream, tucked into dark jeans. When I want a blouse, rag & bone's Vinnie in red and Jamie Haller's Hankie blouse in brown both feel dressed up but still cover my arms. Deep red, chocolate brown and jet black look best after dark, and a good coat over any of them gets you through the walk home.
