Wide Hem

Wide Hem

Wide-leg trousers and relaxed layers for men who want more room and more drape. Full proportions that move well and keep the top half easy.

I have spent years in slim trousers and I am done with them. A wide hem changes how you move: the fabric swings when you walk and the whole outfit looks calmer. The easiest place to start is a pleated pair, like the Kaye trousers from NN07 in black or the Delfo flannel wool from Barena Venezia, which has real weight and drops straight to the shoe.

For a lighter pair I reach for the white linen pants from Polo Ralph Lauren or the Tropea from Closed in a soft sage beige. The Aldo corduroy from Frescobol Carioca is the one I would wear with a plain crewneck in autumn. Because the leg is so full, I keep the top half simple, a boxy sweatshirt from Marine Layer or a hoodie from Fear of God ESSENTIALS, and let a polished shoe show under the hem.
