Briogeo Scalp Revival began with a founder who left Goldman Sachs to make clean hair care. This edit follows the line through wash day and between washes, then on to the moisture the lengths need.

Briogeo Scalp Revival and the Founder Who Brought Binchotan Charcoal to the Shower
Nancy Twine was still working at Goldman Sachs when she started Briogeo. She spent nights and weekends finding chemists, and in 2013 she launched with four products: one shampoo and three texture-specific conditioners. The idea came from her kitchen, where as a girl she made hair and body remedies with her mom from natural oils, butters and salts, inspired by stories of her grandmother's homemade recipes. The name is a portmanteau, Brio for vibrant and full of life in Italian and Geo for earth and nature. Briogeo Scalp Revival arrived in April 2017, after two years of development, built around Japanese binchotan charcoal, which the brand describes as far more porous than ordinary charcoal. Twine herself has called the scalp scrub shampoo first of its kind, with microcrystalline exfoliators that dissolve during the wash instead of sitting in hair. That is a founder with a point of view about scalps. Grid one is the wash day core of the line, so patch test anything new on a small area first.

What happens between washes
Grid two is everything between washes. The Scalp Revival dry shampoo comes in an aerosol-free squeeze bottle, a format Twine has said matters if you have scalp concerns. The massager can be used wet or dry, alone or with a shampoo or oil, and it is a useful tool if you never quite get around to a proper scalp massage. The Style + Treat powder puff is a talc-free powder with a compact applicator for blotting at the roots, and it comes in a translucent shade that blends on any hair color. The Miracle Mist is the odd one out, a leave-in the brand calls a daily bond repair formula for hair damaged by heat and bleach. My tip is to dab powder on the roots before bed, not in the morning, and let it work overnight.
Moisture for everything below the roots
The last grid is for the rest of your hair. Super Moisture Conditioner is a bestseller for the brand, made with micro-encapsulated argan oil and sweet almond oil, and the brand says it is shown to decrease breakage after two uses. Honeybear is a hydrating mask with a honey apple scent and rosehip oil, and Curl Charisma is the brand's number one bestselling curl styler, a rice amino and avocado cream that dries down without crunch. The Strengthening Treatment Hair Oil is silicone-free and fortified with ceramides. What I would skip is scrubbing the scalp hard or often. The brand calls its scrub shampoo a weekly scrub, and using the pads of your fingers does the job without scraping. Also skip piling a mask, cream and oil onto the roots; keep all of that from the ears down.
The brand behind the name
Briogeo has always read to me like the work of someone who studied what a category was missing. In 2014 the brand became the first clean hair care line sold at a major beauty retailer, according to Forbes, and Twine was then 29. The line still holds that point of view: a handful of ingredients it leaves out, and formulas that try to do specific jobs. If you are starting from zero, try the scalp products first, see how your scalp behaves for a few weeks, and only then worry about everything below it.
