Headbands from $10 to $698 across four price tiers, and what each jump in price actually changes.

Headbands From $10 to $698: What Each Price Tier Gets You
What a headband costs
Headbands are one of the few accessories where $10 and $698 both make sense, for different reasons. I laid out the range from Tegen, Emi Jay, Lele Sadoughi and Jennifer Behr by price so you can see what each jump buys. Prices come from each brand's listing on November 3, 2026.

Under $20
Tegen's Narrow Fabric Headband at $10 is a soft braided fabric-covered band made in France, flexible enough for kids and adults, and the 10mm French Headband at $13 is acetate with fine teeth that hold the hair in place. Emi Jay's Pointelle Headband at $18 is 100% cotton and 3 inches wide, and the Infinity in Heather Cloud Knit at $18 is a stretch knit made for all-day wear. Here the choice is thin and sleek or wide and soft.
$34 to $70
The Emi Jay Starlet at $34 is a 1 1/8 inch acetate arch in Tortoise Heart. Lele Sadoughi's Jet Faux Leather Bessette at $65 is a flat band 1 inch wide, named for the style of Carolyn Bessette. Tegen's Crystal Studded Velvet at $68 is embellished with Swarovski crystals, and it is the best value in the edit for anyone who wants sparkle.
$140 to $200
Jennifer Behr's Lacey at $142 is signature silk-velvet with a no-pinch flexible structure and a grosgrain-lined interior so it does not slide. The Lydia in Cappuccino at $198 is 1 1/4 inches wide and gives the look of a ribbon in the hair. Lele Sadoughi's Jet Alice at $195 is a slim, padded velvet band hand-embellished with crystals and Star of David charms, made for Hanukkah.
$390 and up
The Odela at $398 is hand-draped and pleated silk duchesse satin, shaped like a clamshell or fan and inspired by 1940s cocktail hats. The Emelina at $698 is covered in Austrian crystals in pear, baguette, round and square shapes, framed by two rows of crystal chain. These are occasion pieces, bought for a wedding, a gala or the best dinner of the year.
What the jumps buy
Buy the $10 or $13 French band for every day and one splurge for the year. The jump from $68 to $142 is where the comfort changes, and that is the one worth thinking about.
